Like I said before, I love every inch of the kitchen. It took longer than we originally thought it would (remodeling always does) but we are lucky enough to have great friends who live next door. Katie let me use her kitchen whenever I needed and fed us dinner too many times to count. They really were a blessing during the remodel. The light over the sink might be one of my favorite things in the kitchen. Blake doesn't really like it but he's a good husband so he let me use it anyway. This light hung in my grandparent's bedroom for somewhere around 40-50 years. It's something that I will always associate with them. I'm not normally a sentimental person but it means the world to me to have this light fixture in my kitchen.
Not only were the Lipscombs a God-send during this process but Blake's dad, Richard, helped out a ton, too. Richard and Blake did all of the electrical work in the kitchen. Blake's dad got his electrician's license when he and Sharon remodeled their house almost 30 years ago. Richard taught Blake all sorts of stuff about electricity and Blake even put in the recessed lights all by himself! I have a ton more pictures but this pretty much gives you the idea.
