This is what the kitchen looked like after we painted the cabinets, trim and walls over 3 years ago:

Here are a few more pictures:

Like I said before, I love every inch of the kitchen. It took longer than we originally thought it would (remodeling always does) but we are lucky enough to have great friends who live next door. Katie let me use her kitchen whenever I needed and fed us dinner too many times to count. They really were a blessing during the remodel. The light over the sink might be one of my favorite things in the kitchen. Blake doesn't really like it but he's a good husband so he let me use it anyway. This light hung in my grandparent's bedroom for somewhere around 40-50 years. It's something that I will always associate with them. I'm not normally a sentimental person but it means the world to me to have this light fixture in my kitchen.
Not only were the Lipscombs a God-send during this process but Blake's dad, Richard, helped out a ton, too. Richard and Blake did all of the electrical work in the kitchen. Blake's dad got his electrician's license when he and Sharon remodeled their house almost 30 years ago. Richard taught Blake all sorts of stuff about electricity and Blake even put in the recessed lights all by himself! I have a ton more pictures but this pretty much gives you the idea. If you're in Nashville you can stop by and see it for yourself! We'd love to have you!
Well... Hopefully I'll be a better blogger this school year! Here's to my renewed interest in blogging...

Mo, it looks awesome! I'm very impressed. I'll definitely be going by to see it when I'm in town. Wish I could see you guys too... but the kitchen will be fun to look around :). Whenever we buy a house, you guys are totally gonna help us if we renovate anything.
I LOVE it Mo! What a great place for you to do practice your spiritual gift of cooking : )
my fav's: the new cabinetry around the fridge, the light above the sink, and the appliances which are making me drool. you so deserve this great kitchen!
You did a great job! Your new kitchen looks like a picture in a decorating magazine, and I love your vintage light above the sink...so cool and personal!
Wow Wow Wow! I was thinking that the before picture was the after picture because it looked good already and then I saw the after! GREAT work! I love home remodeling and especially love other peoples when I can just see the pictures. I am also in love with that light!
This is Blake. And I just wanted to point out Moriah failed to mention the hardest part for us (me) which was tiling the floor ourselves (myself). I'm just going to sulk a bit.
